Danny Dubbz is a UK Garage producer, remixer and DJ whose career began on South London’s pirate airwaves. His work spans original records, major-label remixes, club and festival sets, and a studio archive built over more than two decades.

Tim Berg, better known as Avicii, first contacted Danny by email. They developed a friendship through messages, exchanging production knowledge and jokes. Avicii personally selected Danny’s Sunshine Steppa remix of ‘Seek Bromance’ for signing; the remix went on to feature on Ministry of Sound’s The Sound of UK Garage.

Danny’s original remix of Amy Pearson’s ‘Don’t Miss You’ was signed by Sony. His official remix work also includes Beyoncé, Rihanna and Example, with label work spanning Sony, Virgin and Ministry of Sound. His own releases include ‘Runaway’ featuring Davinah, signed to All Around The World, and ‘Summertime’ with Ironik. Selected unreleased work includes remixes of recordings by Sting, Jimmy Cliff & Silverland and Snowman Baby, Mutya & Wiley, plus a joint remix with Eddie Craig of Keisha White’s ‘Valentine’.

His Ministry of Sound history includes hosting Essential Garage on Ministry of Sound Radio, playing the London club, contributing to its website and appearing on its compilations. He has also performed on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and KISS. Shared bills include Big Narstie, Dappy, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Artful Dodger, Baby D, Rozalla and Livin’ Joy.

Before Danny Dubbz, he was MC Fanta-C. In 2001 he co-founded Rampage FM, broadcasting UK Garage and 2-step across South London and Surrey. It was relaunched as Kurupt FM in 2004. Allan ‘Seapa’ Mustafa and Hugo Chegwin were among those who played on the station before later co-creating the BBC comedy People Just Do Nothing, centred on a fictional station of the same name.

Now based in West Sussex, Danny continues to produce and perform, with sets shaped by his own edits, bootlegs and mashups. He is working on original UK Garage with rapper Stax and garage MC Loopz. In 2024 he returned to the microphone at Sidewinder alongside The Wideboys.
