Danny Dubbz is a UK Garage producer, remixer and DJ based in West Sussex, with roots in South London’s pirate radio scene.
His sound grew from the records, radio shows and clubs that shaped UK Garage: vocal hooks, basslines and the swing of 2-step. More than two decades on, his work spans original releases, official remixes, DJ reworks and an extensive unreleased catalogue.
The production credits are substantial. His Sunshine Steppa remix of Tim Berg’s “Seek Bromance” was personally selected by Avicii for signing. Danny’s original Amy Pearson “Don’t Miss You” remix was signed by Sony, while his official remix work also includes Beyoncé, Rihanna and Example.
His own records include “Runaway” featuring Davinah, signed to All Around The World, and “Summertime” with Ironik. Further label work spans Virgin and Ministry of Sound.

RECORD SHOPS.
RADIO SIGNALS.
Danny’s early musical education came through London radio, record shops and the UK Garage community. DJ EZ was a formative influence; visits to Slammin’ Vinyl in Kingston and Uptown Records helped turn listening into collecting, mixing and eventually making records.
Early remixes of tracks such as Case’s “Missing You” and Keith Sweat’s “Twisted” became part of his growing catalogue, with support from DJs including EZ, Cameo and DJ Q. The transition from MC to DJ and producer brought the name Danny Dubbz to the forefront.
MC Fanta-C / The station story
RAMPAGE FM.
THEN KURUPT FM.
Before Danny Dubbz, there was MC Fanta-C.
In 2001 Danny co-founded Rampage FM, broadcasting UK Garage and 2-step on 98.1 and 99.7 FM. The station started in South Wimbledon, moved to Leatherhead and later settled in Kingston upon Thames, with Fanta-C on the microphone throughout.
By 2004, after equipment thefts by rival stations, Rampage was relaunched as Kurupt FM. Among those who played on the station during that period were Allan “Seapa” Mustafa and Hugo Chegwin. It ran for just under a year before going off air, while Danny continued into production and remixing as Danny Dubbz.
The BBC connection
Mustafa and Chegwin later co-created People Just Do Nothing, the BAFTA-winning BBC comedy. Filmed in mock-documentary style, it follows the DJs and MCs of a fictional Kurupt FM broadcasting UK Garage from a flat in Brentford, west London.
Danny’s connection comes through the earlier real-life station, where they crossed paths before the television series.

MINISTRY OF SOUND
& NATIONAL RADIO.
Ministry of Sound
Danny’s relationship with Ministry of Sound spans several parts of the organisation: hosting Essential Garage on Ministry of Sound Radio, performing at its London club, contributing articles to the Ministry website as a credited DJ, and appearing on its compilations.
His “Seek Bromance” remix features on The Sound of UK Garage, one of the records connecting his production work with the label.

Danny’s radio career also includes performances on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and KISS in the UK, alongside his roots in independent pirate broadcasting.
Radio remains part of the thread connecting his early MC years, DJ work and production career.

BACK ON
THE MIC.
Danny’s live history includes shared bills with Big Narstie, Dappy, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Artful Dodger, Baby D, Rozalla, Livin’ Joy, Ironik, General Levy, Sweet Female Attitude, Angie Brown and 3 of a Kind.
In 2024 he picked the microphone up again, MCing at Sidewinder alongside The Wideboys, more than twenty years after MC Fanta-C first went on air.
He continues to play garage events and festivals across the south coast and the UK, bringing his own productions, edits, bootlegs and mashups into his sets.

STILL MAKING
RECORDS.
Danny is working on original UK Garage with rapper Stax and MC Loopz. His unreleased archive includes remixes of recordings by Sting, Jimmy Cliff & Silverland and Snowman Baby, Mutya & Wiley, plus a joint remix with Eddie Craig for Keisha White.
The work continues: new productions, new remixes and a sound that keeps developing in the studio and in front of a crowd.
